Although nearly one-fourth of 2013 remains, and we intend not to let it go to waste, it’s getting to be that time of year where we have to start thinking about 2014. Some great shows for next year are already lining up, and, of course, venues and bands are starting to announce their New Year’s Eve plans. We already told you about Old Crow Medicine Show’s two-night stand at The Ryman. But, if you’re looking for a completely different way to ring in 2014, we’ve got you covered:

Garage/indie punks Diarrhea Planet are set to headline Exit/In on Dec. 31, and, if they bring half as much insanity and over-the-top performance chops as they did for their recent record release show (and Freakin’ Weekend before that), this might just be THE place to be. Sweeting the deal are operatic, video game-inspired synth-rockers The Protomen (who destroyed at our SXSW Send Off earlier this year, and rarely play Nashville), Ri¢hie, and No Regrets Coyote. Sound like your cup of tea? Yeah, we though so. Grab tickets when they go on sale this Friday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m.
