Weekend-620

What’s that you say? You’re looking for a night of a shoegazey indie rock, post-punk, and all of the atmospheric, etherial, synth-infused tendencies your heart could desire? Look no further than Brooklynites (via San Francisco) Weekend and locals Future Unlimited and Bows and Arrows TONIGHT at The High Watt! This one gets kicking at 9PM, and you can find out more about the show and all three bands after the jump!

Note: if you’re looking for some free fun (or a pre-show preview), you can also catch Weekend performing an in-store, 6PM at Grimey’s Too!

WEEKEND

Critically acclaimed lo-fi/shoegaze act Weekend burst onto the scene with their 2010 debut, Sports. With their latest release, Jinx, the band further expand on their indie-rooted sound, infusing more prominent elements of post-punk, and channeling an aesthetic that is all at once throwback and contemporary. They have a lot of buzz surrounding them, and for good reason. Come to The High Watt tonight to see what it’s all about.

FUTURE UNLIMITED

We maintain that local post-punk/synth rockers Future Unlimited are one of Music City’s best-kept secrets. They channel elements of acts such as Depeche Mode and New Order, while painting lush and sweeping textures, giving them a thoroughly unique aesthetic of their own. Check out their Shia LaBeouf-directed video for “Haunted Love,” below.

BOWS AND ARROWS

Nashville lo-fi indie act Bows and Arrows land closer in sound to Weekend, though skew heavier on the indie rock and shoegaze side, and with more subdued tendencies. They’re a perfect group to kick off this exciting bill, and one worth showing up early for!

Weekend, Future Unlimited, and Bows & Arrows will perform TONIGHT at The High Watt. The show is 18+, begins at at 9PM (doors at 8PM), and tickets are available for $10.
