Little known fact: Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard wasn’t the only contender in the running to join Dntel’s Jimmy Tamborello to form beloved electropop group The Postal Service. In case you missed this video when it swirled around the internet yesterday, check out auditions from some could-be frontmen, including members of Guns N’ Roses, Sunny Day Real Estate, Blink-182, an unusually angry Moby, and more!

The Postal Service exploded onto the scene in 2002 with the release of their one and only album, Give Up. It took a backseat to the duo’s main projects for the later half of the ’00s, then, earlier this year, the news of a reunion broke prior to Coachella’s lineup announcement. The band subsequently announced plans for a deluxe 10-year-anniversary edition of Give Up, which includes 2 new tracks. They’re also set to embark on a full U.S. tour this spring! No plans for a new album have been announced, and the band has so far indicated that this reunion is more of a one-off event. No Nashville date is planned, but, if you’re up for a road trip, you can catch the group at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre in June!
