Wiz Khalifa and Taylor Gang, Tonight @ Bridgestone Arena

At only 25, Wiz Khalifa has already had more career accomplishments than many artists twice his age- 4 studio albums, 2 collaborative albums, a dozen mixtapes, a top 10 album, five top 10 singles, associations with legends like Snoop Dogg and members of Wu-Tang Clan, and his own successful record label/collective Taylor Gang. What’s even more astounding is he accomplished most of that just within the past few years. Put into perceptive, that gives his new single “Work Hard, Play Hard” an even deeper weight of legitimacy.

Known for his laid back delivery, rock and roll attitude, and no holds barred performance style and lyrical craftsmanship, the Pittsburgh native’s much-anticipated new album O.N.I.F.C. is set to drop December 4. The followup to last year’s smash Rolling Papers, Khalifa’s new album has already spawned two hit singles and is set to further cement his status as a rap radio mainstay. The rapper’s style is larger than life and even in a big arena his energy is sure to translate. He’s in his career prime, so if mainstream hip hop is your thing, this is a show not to miss!

Here’s Khalifa on a remix of Ke$ha’s infectiously catchy new single “Die Young” with fellow Taylor Gang member Juicy J:

Of the rest of Taylor Gang (Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Lola Monroe, Berner, and Tuki Carter), all of whom will provide opening support for Khalifa, Juicy J is so far the most developed an artist. Previously known for his work as half of the Memphis duo Three Six Mafia, Juicy J has recently stepped into the solo spotlight has been featured on a string of high profile singles, along with mixtapes and solo records.

Here’s a remix of Wiz Khalifa’s biggest hit “Black & Yellow” featuring Juicy J as well as Snoop Dogg and T-Pain:

The rest of Taylor Gang are all solidly gaining a reputation through the mixtape circuit, and all are poised to release studio albums in the near future. Though Wiz Khalifa is the standout, this entire label/collective is teeming with talent. On the verge of breaking through to mainstream success, these are all rappers with something to prove and their delivery and intensity reflects that. It’s an exciting opportunity to catch several careers on the rise.

Wiz Khalifa is performing at Bridgestone Arena tonight with Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Lola Monroe, Berner, and Tuki Carter. The show starts at 7:30PM and tickets and more information can be found here.
