The weekend is almost here, and it is time to get the party started… especially on a relatively light upcoming weekend bill of shows in town.  So, let’s take a look at your choices for tonight.

It full on party time in Public Square Park tonight for the 2012 finale of the free Live On The Green concert series, and the masses will be moving with Here Come The Mummies, Yacht Rock Revue, & The Delta Saints.  The living petrified funkster headliners are supposedly anonymous superstars that will definitely have the crowd moving the collective ass.  You can check out “Ra Ra Ra” from 12th & Porter a while back, as well as a nice little informercial style video from Yacht Rock Revue, and the swamp rocking goodness of The Delta Saints below.  The music gets started around 5pm, and, as always, this puppy is free!

If you are feeling in the spirit of community with a costume, then you could swing out over to Mercy Lounge to check out another episode of RAW with music by Vanessa Diaz, Buffalo Rodeo, Set Fire To Ghost.  They are ditching the standard cocktail attire for masquerade ball attire for the night, so dress appropriately.  Have a listen to Vanessa Diaz and Buffalo Rodeo below, and you can head over to Set Fire To Ghost’s Reverbnation page to check them out.  Things get started around 9pm, and you can grab your $10 advance tickets here.

If you need something a little more low key, we’d recommend Foreign Fields w/ Whitehorse and Luella and the Sun over at The Basement.  It definitely won’t have the same energy as the other events of the nights, but sometimes beautiful is what you really need.  Have a listen to each below including: Foreign Fields’ newest EP Names and Races, “No Glamour In The Hammer” by Canada’s Whitehorse, and Luella & The Sun performing “Fly So Free” at Zombieshop below.  Things get started around 9pm, and it’ll cost you $5 at the door.
