Do you remember our pals The Coasts that we jabbered about around this time last year?  Well, fans of The Coasts will be happy to know that things are going well from the Little Rock band.  Paste named them in their 50 states rundown, as a band you should know from Arkansas.  They also won a contest to record some music at Entourage actor Adrien Granier’s place (Granier’s also a musician).  That should provide some good marketing for their upcoming EP which should be ready by November.

Well, as if that wasn’t enough, Ike Peters of the Coasts has teamed up with his sister, Katie Mitchell, for another project called The Rough Drafts.  It’s a bit of a detour from the surf splashed rock of The Coasts, but there is some definite chemistry between brother and sister in the soothing twangy folk tunes.  You can have a listen to the EP titled Valley Forge below.

It’s a pay what you can type set up, and all proceeds go to help a family that is trying to adopt a child.  You can learn more at that link up there, and, if you like the tunes, try to give a little.
