This Weekend in Nashville, August 24-26

Matt was a little hung over after the Titan’s preseason game yesterday. So he asked me to give our readers a hint of what is going on this weekend:

Friday

Matt already informed our readers about Little Barrie w/ AJ and the Jiggawatts and Purple at the Basement. Doors at 9, $8 cover. Here’s a link to that post.

You have Oh My Me, Ponychase and Ancient Warfare at the Exit In tonight. Doors at 8pm, 18 and up, and tickets are $7. Get your tickets here.

You’ve also got The Great Affairs, Joshua Ketchmark, & 100 Watt Opera at the Rutledge. Doors at 8pm,  18 and up, $5 cover. Details for the show can be found here.

There’s also a house show going on at 655 Wedgewood Ave tonight. Comedic master-wit James Austin Johnson will be hosting the show which features live performances from The Joy of Painting and The Summer Country. There’s a $3 cover for those who chose to BYOB and $5 get you in with a cup for the keg. Here’s a link to the Facebook event page.

Saturday

Get an early start with the Meadownoise Album Release show at The Groove at 4pm. Information available here.

Steve Earle, the Dukes and Duchesses, and Allison Moorer are playing 3rd and Lindsley. Doors at 6, Show starts at 8. This one’s sold out already, so hopefully you have your ticket already if you were planning to go.

At the Ryman, you’ve got the B-52s playing with Brandon Jazz and His Armed Forces. You can still get tickets here.

Nashville Cream is throwing their Sixth Anniversary Party at Mercy Lounge and The High Watt. You’re got Natural Child, Pujol, Sparkle City DJs, and more to be announced at Mercy Lounge. And you have Wild Cub, Future Unlimited, and the Y2K Dance Party at the High Watt. Doors at 8, show starts at 9 for both. An $8 ticket gets your admission to both venues. 18 and up. Sunday

At the Basement, All Them Witches, The Sex Bombs and Velvet Elvis are playing. Doors at 8, show starts at 9, $5 cover.

It’s Scale Model’s EP Release Party with Magnolia Sons & Sound and Shape at the Exit In. Doors at 7.  FREE!!
