Pixies Tribute “Is She Weird” with Bobby Bare Jr., Exit/In, Tonight In Nashville

This is, I think, the second installment of Is She Weird in Nashville.  I was able to check out the inaugural installment over at The 5 Spot back in July (man, that seems like forever ago), and it was awesome.  If you don’t remember, you should check out the post that I wrote up about it back then.  Whoa, I just went back and looked at that post, and it was pretty short.  I know I wasn’t all that busy back in July… Anyway, let’s say you didn’t click up there, then I’ll tell you that you are looking at a straight up cover party that could include anything out of the Pixies catalogue.  If you are a fan of the Pixies, you are going to love this.

The performers are no slouches either.  You get Nashville’s “have guitar will travel” roustabout Bobby Bare Jr., former Trail of Dead drummer Doni Schroader and Forget Cassettes’ Beth Cameron.  The latter are now playing in a band called Eliza The Arrow.

I don’t normally write up covers, but I am a fan of both the Pixies and BBJ… so, it just feels like another fun show for me.

Things get rolling with opener Rind around 8pm, and tickets are $7 at the Exit/In website.  It’ll be fun.  I even attached a youtoober of the song “Is She Weird” below to get you in the mood.  Get out and see some live music!
