If you aren’t one of 2,362 lucky ticket holders (trivia: that’s the official capacity of The Ryman) seeing the very sold out Raconteurs show tonight, then maybe you should dress up, get your philanthropy on, and head over to the Mercy Lounge for RAW Nashville. It is a celebration of all things independent. It’s a program designed to support the do-it-yourselfers by the do-it-yourselfers. It’s a benefit, a ball, and a fun night out.
RAW is a national independent arts organization that hand-selects and spotlights independent creatives in visual art, film, fashion, music, hair & makeup artistry, photography, models and performing art. RAW’s mission is to provide up-and-coming artists of all creative realms with the tools, resources and exposure needed to inspire and cultivate creativity so that they might be seen, heard and loved. RAW educates, connects and exposes emerging artists in 22 artistic communities nationwide through monthly showcase events. Join us in celebrating the work of these artists. Tonight is the inaugural event at Nashville’s Mercy Lounge. Doors open at 8:00pm and tickets are $10. Put away that ratty concert t-shirt that you normally wear over there, because it is cocktail attire tonight. You can learn more about RAW at their website, facebook page, and the Mercy Lounge website.
There will be a lot going on at the event tonight. Musical performers tonight include singer/songwriter Nathan Griffin, Popster Justin Nault, singer Southern Quill, country songstress Joy Styles, singer/songwriter Ben Neumann, and country artist Lindsey Lawler.
