AE video series and Lissie

We Own This Town tweeted this morning about a new video series from American Eagle (the clothing company) highlighting some Nashville talent.  The one that jumped out at me was Lissie (she recorded her first LP Catching A Tiger in Nashville).  She first caught my eye a couple of years ago when I stumbled upon a video of her covering Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness (nightmare)” for a show at a festival in the UK.

Check out some of the Nashvillians over at the entertaining makes-me wanna-be-a-hot-twenty-something-frolicking-through-mud-puddles-with-some-blue-jeans-on (is that a hyphenation record?) over at the AE website.  You can go see Lissie’s version of “Little Lovin'” below.

I also included a link to listen to Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness (nightmare)”, and then embedded Lissie’s cover of the same song.  Be careful if you are in a cubicle with these….there’s some bad words.

I thought Lissie’s cover was pretty great! She has an incredible voice and is able to demonstrate more power in her less country songs – “When I’m With You” etc. She’s awesome!
