Electropop sensation Foster The People are playing Cannery Ballroom on June 29th at 9:00 pm.  The show is sold out, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find someone who is looking to sell some extras somewhere.  The LA based band has a self-titled EP that was released earlier this year, and released an LP called Torches in May of this year. The record Torches is rapidly climbing the Billboard charts and Foster The People are in the middle of a mostly sold out national tour (I tried in New York last week and now again here in Nashville).

If there is a will there is a way, and these guys promise a fun dancing, hot-chipish alternative if you are looking for a Wednesday night music fix.  If that isn’t enough for you (and you don’t have to work the next day), there is a free afterparty going on at The Mercy Lounge upstairs with DJ sets from Cherub, TWAIN, and Chancellor Warhol.

Here is a review of Torches from the Consequence of Sound website.

The three songs from the EP (which are all also on Torches) are below via soundcloud.  Check it out, and then get out to see live music.
