Tonight in Nashville….
Times New Viking will be rocking their way through Nashville tonight at The End with Big Surr and D. Watusi. Times New Viking is best known for their lo-fi approach to fast-paced, distorted rock n’ roll. If you are a fan of early Guided By Voices, Psychedelic Horseshit, or Eat Skull, this is a do not miss show for you. I am personally interested to hear how their purposely shitty recording methods translate on-stage. The show is in support of their recently released new album Dancer Enquired! via Merge Records. Earplugs might be a good idea for this one.
A couple of tracks are below to get you acquainted. The below recordings are from the new album which has notably better fidelity due to, reportedly, using better recording methods than VHS and cassette tapes. Super hi-tech, fellas…. but a pretty awesome sound. They also have a pretty good Daytrotter session from a couple of years ago that you should check out.
