Thee Oh Sees
w/ Jack Name, D. Watusi

Exit/ In; Nashville, TN
November 15, 2014

Review by Jacob Ryan (@GonzoWithGusto)

Fans of all things garage that rock were at Exit/ In on Saturday in mass for one of the rowdiest, sweatiest, most beer soaked shows we’ve seen all year! If you weren’t there for the high octane, guitar laced jam fest, or you have no idea who Thee Oh Sees are, read on post-haste to get hip. If you were lucky enough to experience it with us, just read this review anyway, because just writing about it gave us goosebumps all over again. Locals D. Watusi and Drag City recording artist Jack Name filled out yet another awesome Saturday night in Music City. Have we ever mentioned how much we love living here?

[Preview] Those Darlins w/ D. Watusi and Churchyard

Those Darlins

This holiday season, maybe you’re feeling a bit burnt out on the music scene here in Nashville. You’ve gone to the shows, attended the house parties, and maybe even bought a piece of merch or two. Suffice it to say, you’ve done to whole “show” thing. But have you ever attended the taping of a live performance? If not, then you’re in luck, as not only will Nashville locals Those Darlins be putting on a killer show tonight at The Stone Fox, but they will also be recording this show as a candidate for an upcoming live album. The evening will be structured much like a traditional show, in that there will be two openers (D. Watusi and Churchyard), but will feature a few twists from your run-of-the-mill performance. This includes both the actual recording and the local Nashville surprise artists who will be performing with Those Darlins. The group will also be performing a variety of new songs most fans haven’t been exposed to yet. Other details you might want to keep in mind about the event tonight is that it is in fact 18+, will cost you $10, and begins at 9 pm

Free, Star-Studded Nashville Outlines Festival at The Stone Fox on Saturday

NashvilleOutlinesPosterwebJeff

Have you guys heard about the Nashville Outlines thing that is going on over at The Stone Fox?  I’m not sure if you should call it a festival, but it has a massive lineup and goes all day.  That’s not a showcase.  That’s more like a festival.  The block is closed down, but the two stages make me want to call it more than a block party.  You know what, I’m sticking with festival.  Regardless, this all day musical gathering out on the west side of town features some of our absolute favorite local musicians.  Things get started at 1pm and roll right along until… well, probably until you call a cab to carry your ass home.  The lineup and set times are below.

Garden Stage
1:15 Weekend Babes
2:00 Bully
2:45 Kin Ship
3:30 Promised Land Sound
4:15 JP5
5:00 James Wallace and the Naked Light
6:00 Ranch Ghost
7:00 D Watusi
8:00 The Ettes
9:00 JEFF The Brotherhood

Fox Stage
6:30 Tristen
7:30 Clear Plastic Masks
8:30 Richie
10:00 Fly Golden Eagle
11:00 Natalie Prass

During the daytime you will also be able to wander through the craft market, play around at the dunk tank, shop at Third Man Records’ Rolling Record Store, pet the animals from Fond Object, or photo bomb your friends at the Generation Domination Photo Booth after you have stuffed yourself with Grilled Cheeserie goodness. Go ahead, check it out, they have a map to keep you oriented!

How does all this happen? Two cheers for electronic co. Griffin who likes to throw these big azz parties!!

We have previews of all the bands below:
