Snail Mail Debuts New Video for “Heat Wave” | Catch Her July 8 at The High Watt

The solo vehicle of 19 year old Baltimore based indie rocker Lindsey Jordan, Snail Mail absolutely blew us away with her 2016 debut EP, Habit. The earnest, lo-fi, folk-informed effort is a personal, raw emotional masterpiece of an album, and firmly established Jordan as an artist to keep an eye on before she was even out of high school. Now signed to Matador, Snail Mail will drop her full-length debut, Lush, on June 8, and ahead of its release, has already toured with the likes of Girlpool, Waxahatchee, Beach Fossils, and, currently, Japanese Breakfast, a run which brought her to town over the weekend at Exit/In.

Needless to say, this young talent is gifted beyond her years, and alongside kindred spirits like Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus, and Jay Som (all but the latter of which are all signed to Matador as well), is helping firmly establish a new wave of lo-fi, intimate, substantive indie rock that feels more personal and relevant than just about anything else in the rock sphere today.

Expanding on a previously announced run of tour dates, Snail Mail recently revealed that Nashville fans who couldn’t make it to see her play with Japanese Breakfast over the weekend won’t have to have long for a return, adding a July 8 stop at The High Watt to the calendar- her first headlining Music City club show, after previously making stops at more DIY-geared spaces. Tickets are available now right here, and once buzz around the album continues to grow, they might not last.

Leading up to Lush‘s release, Jordan also unveiled a brand new single and accompanying video, “Heat Wave,” last week, which shows her donning hockey gear and kicking some ass against a team of bros- something’s that not an act, as she played the sport from the age of eight all the way through high school (which, remember, was not very long ago). It’s a fun spot set to a pretty stellar, earnest, and bitingly contemptuous tune, and we advise you hit play below immediately to see what this must-know rising artist is all about.
