Catch An Acoustic Performance from The Wonder Years w/ Laura Stevenson, The Obsessives, & Jetty Bones | TONIGHT @ Mercy Lounge

Over the last decade, Philadelphia pop punks The Wonder Years have become something of a seminal act in the modern scene, helping revitalize and course-correct the genre with their earnest, smart, engaging, relatable songwriting and DIY-rooted attitude. While the band manage to make it to Nashville on a semi-regular basis, their presence has typically boosted them to somewhat larger rooms, making their performance tonight, Sept. 28 at Mercy Lounge a comparatively intimate and special treat for fans. The size of the venue isn’t the only thing stripped down though- this run is in support of the group’s brand new acoustic EP, Burst & Decay, and they’ll trade their loud, punk fueled setup for acoustic guitars, to present their songs in a more raw and deconstructed manor.

The Wonder Years alone would make this a worthwhile show, but the strong supporting lineup makes it indispensable. New York’s Laura Stevenson brings her folk-tinged, punk adjacent indie rock. DC based, emo informed, indie rockers The Obsessives arrive amidst a serious wave of buzz surrounding their sophomore LP.
