As we announced earlier this year, polarizing yet brilliant, eclectic singer-songwriter and multi-instumentlaist Joshua Tillman, who’s found something of cult-like fame since conceiving his Father John Misty persona and musical vehicle five years ago, is set to play The Ryman Auditorium on Sept. 26 in support of his phenomenal and transcendent third LP, Pure Comedy.
Unsurprisingly, tickets to Father John’s Ryman debut- the stage in town he’s perhaps best suited for- managed to sell out pretty quickly. However, those who didn’t snag their spot in time, or superfans who just can’t get enough FJM, now have another shot at a very special afternoon show the same day, Sept. 26 at Third Man Records‘ famed Blue Room; even better? It’s FREE!
Set to take place at 12:30 p.m., with doors opening at noon, the acoustic, daytime performance, which will be recorded live for future release, is first come, first serve, unless you’re one of the lucky 25 winners of Lightning 100’s guaranteed ticket giveaway. We suspect you’ll need to line up incredibly early for a shot at getting in, but at least food trucks and beer will be available on-site for purchase. Good luck!
