Garage rockers Faux Ferocious first pinged our radar with their 2015 debut on likeminded local label Infinity Cat, and have provided many a sore neck with their high energy shows around town in the years since.  They returned last week to release their latest, self-titled 12″ EP (via Drop Medium Records), which sees the band leaning as far as ever into psychedelic post-punk.  The three-track effort features choogling, droning bass lines interspersed with bluesy guitar riffs and half-screamed vocals that will immediately appeal to fans of Parquet Courts, B Boys, or Gang of Four.

You can stream the uniquely awesome entry into the 2017 new release slate below, and you should mark your calendar for their official release show at DIY spot Kirstie Alley’s Davve Grohl Grill on Friday, July 21.  The show is free, the food is free, and the booze is free (for those of age). Doors open at 6 p.m., and the music starts at “sundown.”  More details can be found at the Facebook event page.
