We mentioned this one a few months back, but we’re so excited for this new collective, set to bring their Southern alt rock to Marathon Music Works on Aug. 25 (get tickets here), we wanted to keep you updated. The Magpie Salute are a supergroup caliber collective, featuring co-founding member of The Black Crowes Rich Robinson on guitar, plus fellow Black Crowes alumni Marc Ford (guitar) and Sven Pipien (bass). If that’s not enough to tickle your curiosity, we highly recommend you click on after the jump, and check out their new video for the single “Omission,” which has officially solidified this as one of our mostly highly anticipated shows of the whole summer.
The barebones approach to the video highlights the powerful rock sounds this band are set to unleash. From the first licks of Robinson’s guitar- drenched in his unique style made famous from his time in the Crowes- it’s obvious these musicians are not messing around. Augmented by the robust vocals, this powerhouse is ready to pounce, and eager to show everyone that rock lives, and is ready to rip up stages across the land for a whole new generation. But don’t take our word for it, dive in after the break, and get hip now, before all the lames get word of one of the best new rock bands anywhere.
