A homecoming of sorts after a ten-day spring tour, rising local talent Pale Lungs return to their own house/DIY showspace Dad’s Garage in Murfressboro tonight, March 12 along with tourmates and Detroit natives Mover Shaker. Celebrating the recent release of their debut full-length, Michigania, Mover Shaker’s genre-bending style weaves between math rock, noise rock, and alternative, with shoegaze-y tones and a raw emotional earnestness, which’ll leave you at once scratching your head and excitedly singing along. Pale Lungs, also with impressive dynamic range, tap into a visceral, emo-informed, ambient, alt/indie/post-rock sound with stunning effect. With only one single, “My Window,” it’s hard to get a full gauge of what they’re capable of, but with new music on the way, and on the heels of a spot opening for Dashboard Confessional, it’s time to turn your attention to what is one of the most exciting up and coming acts in town, if you haven’t already.

Hailing from New Jersey, indie punks Save Face bring more eclectic sensibilities to the bill, their knack for hooks and shoutalong-primed vocals perfect to witness in person. Meanwhile, locals O Summer, with their poppy, delightful, indie rock sound and singer-songwriter Eva Ross, who plays raw, folky, gut-wrenchingly personal indie rock, round out the lineup. The show is incredible from top to bottom, and for only $5, and the chance to see these amazing artists in a house, it’s one of the weekend’s best happenings by any measure. Don’t miss it!

Mover Shaker, Pale Lungs, Save Face, O Summer, and Eva Ross will perform tonight, March 12 at Dad’s Garage. The show is all ages, begins at 7 p.m., and admission is $5 at the door. We’re not publishing the address to Dad’s out of respect to the house show scene, but ask around and you’ll find it.
