Positivity Rally

It’s a trying time in the ol’ US of A, and, regardless of which side of the political spectrum you reside, there is no denying that we are divided populace, who really needs to find a space to heal and come together on common ground.  There are a number of rallies going on around town with a similar message surround the upcoming inauguration, but the Safe & Sound Positivity Rally gives music lovers common ground at The Basement East on tonight’s inauguration eve.

The event, which is brought to you by Southern Women for Civil Rights, Terryfest, and Lockeland Springsteen, features a slew of incredible local artist’s fostering the positivity.  Acts include rising local foot stompin’ folk rockers Smooth Hound Smith, singer-songwriter Becca Mancari, acclaimed guitarist and songwriter Robyn Hitchcock, local folkster Darrin Bradbury, artistically alternative songwriter Lilly Hiatt, poppy songwriter Dawn Landes, twang master Paul Burch, rising local standout Josh Farrow, Southern rocker Bari Leigh, multi-instrumentalist and Poly cofounder Larissa Maestro, blog pal Allen Thompson, and Little Bandit frontman and all around player Alex Caress.  Phew!  If only the president-elect could find that many (or any) talented folks that would play his inauguration.

Needless to say that the $3 you drop at the door will amount to about $0.25 per band, and deals just don’t get better than that.  Not to mention with a lineup like this, you are sure to leave in a more positive place than you arrived.  Head below for a taste of each, and we’ll see you tonight.
