Whissell Gets “Blue” with New Holiday Single

We’ve been keeping an eye on local songstress Whissell since the release of her debut single “Get Free.”  After a buzzy year, including a slew of television placements for the track, Whissell is gearing up to release her debut album, Old Souls, Young Bodies, on Jan. 27.

While we wait for that highly-anticipated debut, Whissell has shared a new holiday single that is definitely fitting for the end of what has been a tough year.  In “All I Ever Get For Christmas Is Blue,” Whissell gets reflective about the holidays, which for many are times of missing loved ones and feelings of loneliness.  While it may be more somber than the usual Christmas cheer, it is an excellently done single with bluesy piano and guitar undertones that perfectly accentuate Whissell’s whiskey smooth voice.
