Don’t Miss Josh Rouse w/ Good Buddy | TONIGHT at The Basement East

It’s now been over a decade since Josh Rouse left Nashville to live in a small coastal town in Spain, but you can still hear plenty of the Music City’s influence on last year’s The Embers of Time, part of which was recorded in Music City. Tonight, Oct. 27 Rouse will be back in Nashville, at The Basement East, as part of the Communion music series, along with Good Buddy. Tickets for the 21+ show are still available here, doors open at 8 p.m., and music starts at 9 p.m. Read on for more about the performers!

JOSH ROUSE

In the early ‘00s, singer-songwriter Josh Rouse was churning out some of the best music coming out of Nashville, including his fifth album, which he titled after the city. These days, Rouse is living on the other side of the Atlantic, in a small coastal town in Spain, but his newest music still bears some of that familiar, rootsy, Americana sound of his earlier work. His last album, The Embers of Time, explored all the changes he dealt with in Spain, including becoming a father. With the album bringing him full circle, and back to Nashville for part of its recording, his show at The Basement East tonight will be a not to miss bit of nostalgia for local music fans.

GOOD BUDDY

The brain-child of East Nashville based artist Jason Staebler, Good Buddy have been popping up on some of the most interesting bills for the past couple of years.  Staebler writes ethereal folk interweaves the ambient shoegaze moments with quirky pop sensibilities.  If you haven’t seen their exquisite live set yet, you should make sure you get to the show early to see why they are a perfect fit to open things up.
