Savoy Motel-2016-620

We last checked in with local boogie rockers Savoy Motel, when they dropped their garage glam track “Souvenir Shop Rock” earlier this summer.  Now, the band, made up of members of Cheap Time and Heavy Cream, are back with the new single, “Sorry People,” in support of their upcoming self-titled LP, which is set to drop Oct. 21 via What’s Your Rupture.  The latest single starts out with a retro Casio beat (it actually comes from an antique Maestro Rhythm King MK) that propels the song into a uniquely throwback pop track featuring plenty of jangly guitars and a head nod inducing bass line, and it is quickly becoming some of the more uniquely interesting music to come out of Nashville thus far in 2016.

Bassist/vocalist Jeffrey Novak describes the new track as, “a song based on the late Jay Reatard’s skewed philosophy of never apologizing for anything, even though I remember him telling me he was sorry about countless crazy things in the past.”

Head below to dip into the ultra groovy track that will demand repeat spins, and stay tuned for some sure to be announced local shows in support of the upcoming LP.
