Lousiana-born but Oregon-based singer-songwriter Kyle Craft has been making waves with his debut album, Dolls Of The Highland. The record, which was mixed by Brandon Summers and Benjamin Weikel of The Helio Sequence, is deeply rooted in swampy, southern sounds. Listening to the album feels like a trip back in time, with rolling piano and rhythmic guitar. Craft’s distinctive vocals set the songs apart from any throwback wannabes, adding modern attitude that could be plucked from a punk rock mixtape.
