As we’ve been doing for the past several years now, we’re making it our mission to help you get acquainted with as many bands as we can from Bonnaroo‘s impressive 2016 lineup. In addition to the main stage acts, we also want to be sure to give the Club Stage bands some love, so, for the remainder of our coverage, we’ll be doubling up with a second daily spotlight. They might be the smallest artists on Bonnaroo’s bill, but the Club Stage boasts some of the best and most exciting up and coming acts around. Music City residents we’ve been hip to for a while now, Roots of a Rebellion appear to be picking up more and more moment as we all continue to charge head first into the summer festival season. Over the course of several years, the soulful reggae dub rock outfit have built a strong following all over the southeast, adding fans to their flock with their high energy live shows and message of unity. The people of Nashville also made it clear what we think of the local boys too, voting them Best Local Band in the Nashville Scene’s 2015 readers poll, which adds credence to the growing Tennessee reggae movement.

Anyone who follows this blog regularly also knows the group won this year’s Road to Roo competition, which is how they earned their way onto the 2016 bill. The group also announced just last weekend that a new record entitled A Brother’s Instinct is on the way, following their Inner Light EP and debut full-length, Heartifact. The new LP is set for release on July 9, and a very special performance with Backup Planet and Omega Swan is already set at Exit/In for the same day. This tight, catchy, authentic local band have already shared the stage with the likes of The Wailers, Slightly Stoopid, and SOJA; don’t miss them in action this summer at Bonnaroo!
