ELENOWEN
Elenowen are a husband and wife duo that combine classic folk harmonies and indie songwriting into creative pop songs. Josh and Nicole Johnson have been making music since 2010, and gained broader recognition with a 2011 appearance on The Voice. They pull inspiration from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, but add a fresh twist to their unique style of rock. Last year, the group released For the Taking, their second full-length album, recorded right here in Nashville. The High Watt is the perfect place to cozy up and let these dreamy voices serenade you, so check out an acoustic performance below and get ready for a great evening.
NATHAN ANGELO
Nathan Angelo makes piano driven pop music layered with soulful R&B vocals. Nathan’s early success came from 2011’s Acoustic Review, which led to a huge fan backing and, in 2013, allowed him to crowd-fund his very well received Out Of The Blue, which he recorded in Nashville. Angelo supremely balances the sounds of jazz and blues with pop R&B influences with his own style, which you can hear on full display below while you get ready to groove tonight.
WILLIAM WILD
William Wild are an indie folk rock group from Knoxville, who you may remember played one of our Acme showcases earlier this year. In the vein of Bon Iver with cues from Local Natives, Aaron Hill and Garrett Sale make emotional and moving music. Their self-titled album is well beyond their years in musical wisdom, and is a refreshing and substantive reclaiming of the folk genre. Hear “Townsend” from the album below, and be sure to show up early to hear them for yourself tonight.
Elenowen, Nathan Angelo, and William Wild will perform tonight, Feb. 4 at The High Watt. The show is 18+, begins at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), and tickets are available for $10.
