WOLF ALICE-2015-620

Beat all your music snob friends to the punch tonight at Mercy Lounge by helping to welcoming buzz worthy London quartet Wolf Alice to Music City. They found themselves all over everyone’s “artists to watch in 2015” lists, and even snagged some critical acclaim (more on that after the jump), plus one of our favorite local bands, Chrome Pony, will be opening up, so it’s kick ass tunage all around. Tickets to this 18+ show are $18, and the music starts at 8 pm (doors at 7). Of course if you’re not familiar with one of the newest/hippest bands out there, you can read on after the jump for more info, and once you’ve bathed in their glory, get your ass to Mercy tonight!

WOLF ALICE

After dropping their debut record, My Love Is Cool, this past summer, Wolf Alice have been racking up acclaim all over the world. Billboard Magazine named them one of their artists to watch in 2015, Rolling Stone made them one of their ten artist you need to know in the October issue, oh, and they just nabbed themselves a Grammy nomination too, for Best Rock Performance, for the single “Moaning Lisa Smile”. Not a shabby way to kick start their careers. The band’s sometimes crunchy, electronic laced indie rock has pop melodies that remind us just a little bit of a Nashville band who’s star is also rising (see Bully). Have a taste below, and see what all the fuss is about for yourself tonight.

CHROME PONY

Fans of our site are no strangers to Chrome Pony (read this post or this post). At this point they are a staple in the growing Nashville indie rock scene, and have been part of our Acme showcase a couple times this year. Founded by Indiana-bred brothers Tyler and Kyle Davis, the group touches on elements of psychedelic, punk, garage, and plain old kick ass rock and roll; blending it all together to create an original sound all their own. We’d be hard pressed to tell how many times we’ve seen them perform at this point (hint: it’s a lot), but we assure you they are always full of piss and vinegar, which translated to a fun/exburant show. Their latest EP, You Are the Pisces, dropped last year, so we’re sure they’ll be kicking out some new jams for us all to enjoy very soon. Be on time, so you don’t miss a second of their set.

Wolf Alice and Chrome Pony will be performing TONIGHT (12/15/15) at Mercy Lounge. The show is 18+, begins at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), and tickets are available for $18.
