‘Tis the season for giving, and BMI’s weekly series 8 off 8th is giving you an easy way to donate to a good cause all while checking out some rad bands tonight, Dec. 14 at Mercy Lounge, including bluesy folk singer Jesse Lafser, dreamy songstress Becca Mancari, painfully honest country singer and Acme showcase alum Jacob Thomas Jr., and plenty more. As always, the event itself is free, but with a minimum donation of $5 to check your coat at the door, you’ll be benefitting the Nashville Rescue Mission. Or, since it’s like a million degrees outside in freaking DECEMBER and you’re probably not wearing a coat, you can bring some items from their wishlist, which you can find at the Facebook event page here. Either of these good deeds will get you a free beer from Native and an entry to win a NYE prize package, so that’s plenty incentive to get out and not be a Scrooge.
