If you’re looking for some punch you straight in the face rock and roll this weekend, look no further. Tonight at fooBAR, rowdy hair metal freaks Songs 2 Dance 2 are throwing a cassette release party. Originally, they were going to be joined by Terrible, Oil Endless And The Possibilities and Dr. Jungle Cat. But now the latter two can’t play anymore. So they are being replaced by Another Afternoon.

For just $5, you can see three rocking bands. So being unable to afford the $15 for Dan Deacon is no excuse to not go support music around town. Just walk across Gallatin Ave and you will be just as satisfied. Keep reading after the drop for our full show preview featuring music from each of the bands.

SONGS 2 DANCE 2

Songs 2 Dance 2 are a fairly new band around Nashville. They play high-pitched power metal with loud shrieks and bold guitars about silly things like Tinder. Their shows are pure high energy. Frontman Sean Orphey runs around stage working the crowd with his long curly hair and leopard print vest that jokes around with the hair metal genre all for the purpose of having a good time. They are cheesy but in the best way possible. Check out their single Tinder inspired single, from a recent split 7-inch with Daddy Issues, which tells the listener to “swipe right tonight.” Don’t miss this unique and enthralling performance from one of Nashville’s newest and boldest bands.

ANOTHER AFTERNOON

Just added to the bill are Nashville freak folksters Another Afternoon. We couldn’t find out much about them but we took a listen to their song “Cochabamba” and highly recommend getting to the venue early enough to catch them. The track is an eerie acoustic journey that evokes the likes of Devendra Banhardt and Joanna Newsom. It will be very interesting to see what they are all about.

TERRIBLE

Opening up the night is Nashville band Terrible. Their music sounds like an americana twist on the power rock styles of Built To Spill and Cage The Elephant. Be sure to get to the venue early enough to catch their set.

SONGS2DANCE2, ANOTHER AFTERNOON, and TERRIBLE will perform tonight at fooBAR. The show is 21+ begins at 9PM (doors at 8PM ), and tickets are available for $5 at the door.
