Hey there artists and music fans,
We have a two-fold ticket giveaway for the upcoming Diamond Rugs show at Marathon Music Works. For those of you that still don’t know Diamond Rugs, they are a collaboration between John McCauley (Deer Tick), Robbie Crowell (Deer Tick), Ian Saint Pé (The Black Lips), Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Hardy Morris (Dead Confederate) and Bryan Dufresne (Six Finger Satellite). I had the honor of checking out their debut show in Atlanta last winter, and let me tell you this is a beer swilling, not-to-be-missed good time. You also get to hang with a bunch of killer Nashville bands, like, Turbo Fruits, Ranch Ghost, James Wallace & the Naked Light, and Denney & the Jets.
The first way to enter will require a litte bit of work. Diamond Rugs is looking for a local artist to design their poster for this show. You create and submit the design, Diamond Rugs choses their favorite, and Grand Palace Silkscreen will do the printing. These will be released at the show as limited edition prints, and the winning artist will get into the show for free. The requirements for the poster are below, and, if you need some inspiration, I’ve included the poster from the debut show below. All entries must be submitted to [email protected] by Monday 10/22 at 12 noon.
The second way to enter will still require a bit of creativity, but far less work. If you don’t have what it takes to make a show poster screenprint, I still want you to flex that creative side of your brain. Draw us a sketch or any other visual art medium of the first thing you think of when you hear the words “Turbo Diamond Fruit Rugs”. Most creative entry wins a pair of tickets from us. Submit your photos of your entry to us via twitter by tagging @NoCountryNash & hashtag #turbodiamondfruitrugs. We will accept submissions up until October 23rd at noon, and we will announce a winner on October 25th. If you aren’t twitter prone, you can also email a photo of your entry to [email protected]. We will post our the winner along with any honorable mentions up before the show.
