Just like last year and the year before, we’re making it our mission to help you get acquainted with every single band on Bonnaroo‘s impressive 2015 lineup.  We started from the bottom and have been working our way up, paying special attention to the smaller and lesser known acts on this year’s bill with daily, dedicated Bonnaroo Band of the Day and Bonnaroo Club Stage Band of the Day posts. Now that ‘Roo is fast approaching, and we’re adminttedly playing catch up through the rest of the fest’s lineup in the form of group posts. Keep reading for your Bonnaroo Band of the Day Club Stage Roundup!

HOMEMADE WINE

HomemadeWine-Roo

Friday | On Tap Lounge | 8:30pm

Mixing elements of southern rock, alt-country, and Americana, accomplished touring act Homemade Wine hail from Knoxville, but find their way to Nashville regularly for performances. Formed into 2008, the raucous country jam  trio have certainly put in their dues, performing over 200 dates a year and flexing their chops through a series of records, most recently The Road to House Mountain. Friday night Club Stage slots face stuff competition, so be sure to come cheer on these East Tennessee boys at their ‘Roo debut!

JASON MCMILLAN BAND

JasonMcMillanBand-Roo

Friday | On Tap Lounge | 3pm

Based in Auburn, Alabama, the Jason McMillan Band are the latest musical vehicle for singer-songwriter Jason McMillion, who has released solo efforts, as well as performed under the moniker “J-Mac and Friendz,” in recent years. Veterans of the southeast tour circuit, the group are gearing up to release a new album later this year, and, while we can’t find much in the way of official releases floating around, they won a Miller Lite/local radio sponsored “Road to Bonnaroo” competition, meaning they earned their spot through the merits of their live show. Expect a funky, soulful, dance-ready set with a reggae vibe (we think).

RADIOLUCENT

Radiolucent-Roo

Friday| On Tap Lounge | 5pm

Another southern rock act, but with some definite country, soul, and gospel influences, Athens, GA’s Radiolucent help further flesh out this year’s diverse crop of acts. Unabashedly southern in their musical and thematic focus, the band play an amped up take on a longstanding musical tradition, performing at all manors of dive bars, honkey tonks, and fairgrounds from their 2007 formation through the 2012 release of their impressive debut LP, Turn Me on and Turn Me Loose. Generating regional buzz, the boys have graduated to playing the southeast show circuit, and have built a reputation and following for their dependable, polished stage show.

THE DØ

TheDo-Roo

Friday | On Tap Lounge | 1:15am

Formed in Paris in 2005, French-Finnish duo The Dø are one of those Club Stage acts who, by virtue of their success, should really be getting more prime billing, but, for whatever reason, aren’t as well known by the Roo-going crowd. Still, their late night Friday set is sure to be one of the weekend’s best, if you’re feeling up for something a little more off the beaten bath. Exploding onto the French music scene with wonderful debut, A Mouthful, the duo, made up of  of Olivia Merilahti (singer and musician) and Dan Levy, became the first French act to top their native charts with an English language album. Building on the critical and commercial attention they amassed worldwide, especially after the LP’s stateside release, the band improved on their folky, indie, pop-infused sound with polished sophomore effort Both Ways Open Jaws, then indulged in their electronic impulses and high-art, minimalist tendencies with emotional and lush 2014 release Shake Shook Shaken. Needless to say, The Dø should be among your most-anticipated performers of the whole fest, so don’t let their set slide under your radar!
