Bonnaroo Club Stage Roundup: Grey Season, Highly Suspect, Hudson K, Jesse Terry

Just like last year and the year before, we’re making it our mission to help you get acquainted with every single band on Bonnaroo‘s impressive 2015 lineup. We started from the bottom and have been working our way up, paying special attention to the smaller and lesser known acts on this year’s bill with daily, dedicated Bonnaroo Band of the Day and Bonnaroo Club Stage Band of the Day posts. Now that ‘Roo is fast approaching, and we’re adminttedly playing catch up through the rest of the fest’s lineup in the form of group posts. GREY SEASON

Sunday | Who Stage | 12:45pm

Massachusetts based Grey Season began busking on the streets of Boston and Cambridge in 2011, and they quickly gained a following of fans loyal to their folk influenced indie rock. Likely taking cues from bands like The Avett Brothers and Mumford & Sons, the five piece tastfully combine soaring harmonies and blues influenced guitar solos to electrify their take on traditional southern music. Their debut EP, Troilus, was released in 2013, and, after a successful crowd funding effort, the band released their debut LP, Time Will Tell You Well, in April 2014. Fans that are heading to ‘Roo to see Mumford on Saturday night should definitely add Grey Season to their Sunday must-see list. HIGHLY SUSPECT

Saturday | On Tap Lounge | 8:30pm

Fast paced rock n roll can sometimes be hard to find at Bonnaroo, but the New Music On Tap Lounge is usually the spot to go if you are feeling the need to rock the eff out. Boston bred, Brooklyn based rockers Highly Suspect will be just the early evening wake up call that you should add to your Saturday calendar. Without even a full length album under their belt, HS have already garnered acclaim from Rolling Stone, Consequence of Sound, Billboard, and more, with all of the publications praising the intense guitar riffs and rocker attitude. HUDSON K

Friday | Who Stage | 12:45am

Knoxville based experimental electro synth rockers Hudson K should have quite the following at their late night Who Stage set. The group’s reputation has been building since the release of their 2013 national release, Ouroboros And The Black Dove, for their highly danceable, carefully crafted tracks like “Stuck On Repeat” and “The Knife.” From what we’ve heard of them, this talented duo are poised for commercial success, and, if you need a late night dose of dance adrenaline, Hudson K may be the perfect drug.

JESSE TERRY

Saturday | Who Stage | 1pm

The conversations of folks describing Jesse Terry could easily begin like “imagine you are seeing James Taylor performing for the first time in a coffee shop, and you immediately know that you are witnessing greatness”. An incredibly gifted songwriter, Terry has garnered acclaim for his songs which touch both the listener’s head and heart, the ultimate goal of most every artist. The troubadour spent time in Nashville in the writing circuit, before taking to the road in support of his three full length releases. His song “Stay Here With Me” has recieved television placements, and you can check out a live video of him performing that track at The Bluebird Cafe below, as well as, one of this writer’s personal favorites, “Let The Blue Skies Go To Your Head”. If you are a fan of thoughtful songwriting, then you definitely need to carve out a spot on your Saturday schedule to spend some time with Jesse Terry.
