New Beirut Track

In a convoluted twisting of artistry (and record release news), Blondie has released a new album called Panic of Girls (only in the UK only via collector’s pack sold at Europe’s equivalent of Walmart, for now) which includes a cover of Beirut’s “Sunday Smile”.  While I choose to avoid unraveling Blondie’s issues, I will tell you that…. Beirut has released their first single since March Of The Zapotec.  It is called “East Harlem”, and you can check it out over at Stereogum’s website.

You could work really hard over coffee like I did this morning to figure out exactly what I am trying to explain above, or you can just go check out Beirut at this year’s Bonnaroo festival.  They will be playing at The Other Tent on Sunday (6/12) from 6:15 to 7:45pm.  Surely, most of you have heard Beirut by now, but, if you want to know more, check out their Bonnaroo artist page.
