Summer’s winding down as the fall is ramping up. Last week marked a huge return for one of our favorite concert series, Live on the Green, and brought tons of exciting additional performances, show announcements, and premieres. As we dive headfirst into another week, we expect just as much news to start rolling in. But, first, in case you missed anything, here’s a recap of everything we covered last week on the site:

  • NO COUNTRY PRESENTS: Don Gallardo at Acme Feed & Seed | August 19th.
  • NEWS: Actor Macaulay Culkin’s pizza-themed Velvet Underground tribute band, The Pizza Underground, announced a fall show at The High Watt with Har Mar Superstar.
  • NEWS: Nikki Lane rescheduled her Grimey’s in-store for Sept., shortly after appearing on Conan.
  • NEWS: Legend Kris Kristofferson announced an acoustic show at The Ryman in early September!
  • NEWS: Duo Shovels and Rope announced a record release performance at Grimey’s, following their opening slot with Old Crow Medicine Show at Fontanel.
  • NEWS: Donna the Buffalo announced a show at Acme’s Hatchery venue.
  • NEWS: Bitchfest announced its 4th annual installment, set for later this month at Charlie Bob’s!
  • FEATURE: This Weekend in Nashville: Our staff highlighted the weekend’s must0see shows!
  • REVIEW: Live On The Green returned with City and Colour, The Weeks and Spanish Gold and we were there to to check it out (w/ PHOTOS)!
  • REVIEW: Our weekly Acme showcase continued with Bear in the Campsite and Jordan Hull, and we brought you a recap (w/ PHOTOS).
  • REVIEW: We went over to 3rd and Lindsley to catch honeyhoney and Kristina Train (w/ PHOTOS).
  • REVIEW: We caught Ray Wylie Hubbard with Brandy Zdan at 3rd and Lindsley.
  • REVIEW: We went to Music City Roots and caught Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Susan Werner, David Olney and Michaela Anne (w/ PHOTOS).
  • REVIEW: Guitar virtuosos Rodrigo y Gabriela put on an incredible show at The Ryman, and were were there to check it out (w/ PHOTOS)!
  • INTERVIEW: We sat down with electro pop band The Casket Girls ahead of their recent show at The End.
  • SHOW: Honey Locust performed at the Exit/In with Josephine and the Wildfront and Mom & Dad.
  • SHOW: Singer/songwriter and harpist Mikaela Davis performed at The High Watt.
  • SHOW: Live on the Green kicked off its 2014 season with City & Colour, The Weeks and Spanish Gold.
  • SHOW: The Problems performed at The East Room with Dohse and Kristen Cothron & the Darkside.
  • SHOW: Sam Bush, Detour, Balsam Range and Becky Buller performed at Music City Roots’ IBMA nominations show.
  • RELEASE: Ty Segall dropped his new LP and played Conan ahead of a show at Mercy Lounge.
  • RELEASE: Locals Private Lives made their debut LP, Eyes Open, available to stream.
  • VIDEO: The Black Keys released a new short film for “Weight of Love.”
  • VIDEO: The Cunning released a new video for “Lonesome No More.”
  • VIDEO: Jam in the Van released an interview and performance video with The Wood Brothers.
  • VIDEO: Mystery Twins debuted a video for their new single “Ghost.”
  • FUN: Hump Day Diversion: Never Had A Friend Like Me
