Nashville’s hip hop scene keeps getting better and better these days. From dope album releases to landing major hip hop tour stops, it seems our city is shifting into a higher gear. That’s why we’re not going to let Openmic slip by unnoticed.

Not like he would let us anyway. Openmic has rocked shows with Pusha T, Wale, and Big K.R.I.T. His new album, For The Rebels 2, just dropped with polished production and a flow that doesn’t let up.

Read on to find out which specialist guests Openmic pulled for tomorrow’s album release show at Mercy Lounge!

Openmic

What’s most impressive about Openmic is how he can flip styles so comfortably. For The Rebels 2 creeps in with the icy “Floss” and the Ducko McFly-produced “New 100s,” before whipping into a banger titled “James Brown.” Prepare to hold on throughout the rest of the release, as Openmic takes Bentley-smooth turns whenever the mood strikes.

Whether he’s taking a hard look in the mirror or showcasing well-earned bravado, count on Openmic to push the limit.

G-Side

G-Side is another example of Openmic’s penchant for surrounding himself with top-tier talent. The duo are one of the brightest spots in new Southern rap, receiving diverse praise from HipHopDX, NPR, and Pitchfork. After a short hiatus in 2013, G-Side is back to work creating new sounds, with an album release on the horizon. Lean back on their single, “25 Lighters.”

GLC

Chicago’s GLC will make a trip down South for an appearance. You might recall him shining on Kanye West classics “Drive Slow” and “Spaceship.” After some contributions with G.O.O.D. Music, GLC is putting in more work with single and video releases slamming the web. Listen to him ride with Bun B and Cory Mo on “Chose Me” below.

Openmic, G-Side, GLC, and more special guests will perform tomorrow, April 5, at Mercy Lounge. The show is 18+, begins at 10 p.m. (doors at 9 p.m.), and tickets are available for $12 in advance and $15 the day of show.
