Mogwai is the epitome of post-rock. This five man band out of Glasgow Scotland is well known for lengthy instrumental electric guitar pieces and melodic bass lines. The effect is half heart pounding head bobbing intensity and half peaceful lullabies. These guys have been melting brains while rocking you to sleep since 1995 when they created the almost rock and roll reply to the growing electronica movement.
They are finishing up their current North American tour with a stop at Nashville’s Exit/In before returning to play a number of European festivals to promote their recently released album Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will (fitting for the night of the supposed Rapture). Seriously, I can’t believe that they are playing at Exit/In. These guys are worthy of a much larger venue. This is a real treat Nashville. Get out there and see them…… and, as a friend who just saw them in San Francisco told me, “make sure you bring earplugs”.
Errors is a “post-electro” band also from Glasgow Scotland. They are on the same record label and, conveniently, managed by Mogwai. I don’t know too much about them, but, from the little I have heard, it seems like the perfect opener for Mogwai.
Somehow iTunes lost all my Mogwai like a dryer loses a sock. So, i’ve attached some YouTube stuff below for both Mogwai and Errors. Enjoy!
