Bonnaroo Artist | Men I Trust
Bonnaroo History | Newbie
Stage & Time | Sunday | That Tent | 4:45-5:45pm

Like we’ve been doing for many years now, we’re making it our mission to help you get acquainted with many of our favorite acts from Bonnaroo‘s 2023 lineup. After roaring back to life last summer, after two years off due to Covid and weather, this year marks Bonnaroo’s 20th installment (and 22nd anniversary), boasting not only another great and varied lineup, but also more changes and improvements then we’ve seen in years, with more flexibility in ticketing and camping, a reimagined “Outeroo” campground area, new activations, and further new ways to Roo. Back once again in its usual June 15-18 timeframe, we’re counting down the days until another great weekend on the farm.

As we dig through the entire schedule, we’ll highlight a spread of performers spanning across genres and stages, big and small, new and old, to bring you some of the most interesting, lesser-known, and most highly-recommended among this year’s crop of artists. And as our time at ‘Roo approaches, we’ll also be bringing you some special features and full list-style daily lineup guides, to help you plan your weekend ahead of the fest. While these previews won’t span every artist, and might omit some more obvious must-see acts, we hope they’ll serve as a way to help you navigate Bonnaroo’s gargantuan lineup, and to make the most of your busy weekend at the fest!

Grab your tickets right here if you haven’t already, and read on for our Bonnaroo Artist Spotlight!

LEARN

Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, indie outfit Men I Trust came together nearly a decade ago, in 2014, when high school friends Jessy Caron and Dragos Chiriac reunited while studying at Laval University, and found a musical kinship which led to the project’s eponymous debut LP that same year. Notably, the band didn’t have a permeant lead singer in its early days, and relied on a series of collaborative vocalists on their debut and sophomore album, 2015’s Headroom. One such collaborator, Emmanuelle Proulx, joined Men I Trust in a permeant capacity in 2016 (along with co-vocalist Odile Marmet-Rochefort, who would depart not long after), and proved to be the missing ingredient in finding their signature sound, evolving from the more programmed electronic and dance inspired early style to a jangly, lush, electro-infused dreampop with 2019’s Oncle Jazz and 2021’s Untourable Album, as well as a string of singles which have resonanted just as widely, earning the band a passionate fanbase and critical acclaim. Fiercely independent, Men I Trust have self-released all of their work to date, partnering with a label only for physical releases. In recent years, they’ve toured the world and played at fests like Lollapalooza and Coachella, made the long list for Canada’s Polaris Prize, appeared on programs like The Tonight Show and NPR’s Tiny Desk, and have earned viral success and critical adoration for their hypnotic and genre-bending, layered and nuanced songwriting prowess. The trio’s vibes couldn’t be more perfect for Bonnaroo, and whether you’ve been hip to them for the last decade or you’re just coming onboard, their debut on the farm should be high on your Sunday must-see list!
