Bonnaroo Artist | The Army, The Navy
Bonnaroo History | Newbie
Stage & Time | Sunday | Who Stage | 2:30-3:15pm
Like we’ve been doing for many years now, we’re making it our mission to help you get acquainted with many of our favorite acts from Bonnaroo‘s 2025 lineup. A festival that feels like it’s ever evolving (especially with some big tweaks and improvements in the past few summers post-pandemic), this year marks Bonnaroo’s 22nd installment (and 24th anniversary), boasting not only another great and varied lineup, but also some exciting additions like the brand new, high-tech Infinity Stage, billed as “the world’s largest 360-degree, immersive sound experience” and unlike anything that’s ever been showcased in North America. Back once again in its usual June 12-15 timeframe, we’re counting down the days until another great weekend on the farm.
As we dig through the entire schedule, we’ll highlight a spread of performers spanning across genres and stages, big and small, new and old, to bring you some of the most interesting, lesser-known, and most highly-recommended among this year’s crop of artists. And as our time at ‘Roo approaches, we’ll also be bringing you some special features and full list-style daily lineup guides, to help you plan your weekend ahead of the fest. While these previews won’t span every artist, and might omit some more obvious must-see acts, we hope they’ll serve as a way to help you navigate Bonnaroo’s gargantuan lineup, and to make the most of your busy weekend at the fest!
We’re told tickets are very low and on track to sell out, so grab those right here if you haven’t already (and don’t forget the camping or parking pass), and read on for our Bonnaroo Artist Spotlight!
LEARN
Made up of childhood friends Maia Ciambriello and Sasha Goldberg, who shared a singing coach growing up in Mill Valley, California, in the Bay Area, folk pop duo The Army, The Navy only formally began releasing music in 2022, but have fast becoming a buzzworthy new band, acclaimed for their lush harmonies and sharp songwriting. Maia and Sasha also attended New Orleans’ Loyola University together, to study music, and began really crafting what The Army, The Navy’s sound would become during the isolation of the Covid pandemic. Now based in Los Angeles, the pair began garnering attention on TikTok while releasing early singles, with 2023’s “Vienna (In Memoriam)” particularly achieving viral status. Fusing influences of folk, pop, jazz, and indie rock to craft breezy, harmony-rich songs with themes alternating between quirky and surreal to earnest and personal, the duo had a particularly prolific 2024, releasing not one, but two EPs, last year: Fruit for Flies (consisting of many of their earlier viral tunes) and Sugar for Bugs (made up of more new stuff), earning lots of positive buzz and cosigns from some popular artists, and leading to tours with the likes of Matt Maltese, Paris Paloma, and Dora Jar. The pair just wrapped their first headlining tour of North America back in the spring, and will tour Europe and Australia for the first time later this year, surely with more U.S. dates to follow. A fantastic band who are still at the start of what’s certain to be an exciting and celebrated career, The Army, The Navy are definitely a hidden gem on this year’s Bonnaroo lineup, and if you catch them now while they’re still on the Who Stage, you get bonus credits of getting to say “I saw them when…” Don’t sleep on this set!
