Diarrhea Planet to Reunite for Two Shows at Exit/In, Nov. 22 & 23

Back in the fall, Diarrhea Planet, one of our favorite Nashville bands of all time, sprung back to life after a four year split for a pair of reunion shows at Exit/In, doubling as a farewell to the venue’s tenure under longtime management, after a controversial change in ownership. Recapturing all of the glory and chaos and rock and roll spirit that made us love DP so much in the first place, the band’s status beyond that special return felt unclear at the time. But, mere weeks later, they showed up on this year’s Bonnaroo lineup, confirming that the party punk shredders are, at least in some capacity, back for real!

And in even more exciting news on the Diarrhea Planet front, the band have announced their first-ever headlining show at The Ryman Auditorium just ahead of ‘Roo, on June 14, being billed as something of an official Bonnaroo pre-show. Longtime readers may recall, this isn’t actually the group’s first time at the Mother Church; famously, after their trio of farewell Exit/In shows back in 2018, they took the stage one last time when asked to support Jason Isbell’s Ryman residency, but this is their first time at the legendary venue as proper headliners, making them certainly one of the most unconventional acts to head up the historic room.

No word on whether new music might be coming down the pipeline, or what DP has in store beyond these summer shows, but their appearance at The Ryman is sure to go down in Nashville music history. Snag tickets Friday, March 31 at 10 a.m. CDT right here (or try pre-sale codes OPENER or NASHAROO)!
