Pop megastar Madonna, who, somewhat surprisingly, had never played Nashville until a headlining outing at Bridgestone Arena back in 2016, has plotted her return to Music City, set to once-again take the Bridgestone stage on Dec. 22! Part of a new leg of dates for her recently-announced Celebration Tour, the show will celebrate every era of the Queen of Pop’s illustrious, four-decades long career, and will feature special guest Bob the Drag Queen for a “one-of-a-kind-experience” ahead of the show.
On the heels of Tennessee’s horrendous recent legislation targeting the LGBTQ+ community, drag performers, and trans youth, Madonna has pledged that “a portion of proceeds from the show will go to trans rights organizations,” and added a statement addressing Tennessee and other states passing similar, hateful new laws:
“The oppression of the LGBTQ+ is not only unacceptable and inhumane; it’s creating an unsafe environment; it makes America a dangerous place for our most vulnerable citizens, especially trans women of color. Also, these so-called laws to protect our children are unfounded and pathetic. Anyone with half a brain knows not to fuck with a drag queen. Bob and I will see you from the stage in Nashville where we will celebrate the beauty that is the queer community.”
Tickets are set to go on sale this Friday, March 31 at 10 a.m. CDT right here, with Citi presale underway right here, or use code MICHIGAN for the official venue presale. It’s hard to know when or if the popstar will make it back to Music City, so don’t hesitate if you want to witness this living legend; tickets won’t last!
