Hellogoodbye2019-620

If you only know Hellogoodbye for their somewhat novelty (but, let’s be real, still awesome) 2006 hit “Here (In Your Arms),” from their very mid-aughts debut Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, you’re in for a pretty big shock. In 2010, the group ditched their auto-tuned, synthed-out sound to showcase a stripped-down, genuine knack for penning straightforward pop songs, with their sophomore effort Would It Kill You? Then, in 2013, they underwent yet another, logical transformation, finding a common ground between previous releases with third LP Everything Is Debatable, sounding more akin to a Passion Pit record, laden with huge hooks, diverse instrumentation, and dense, layered, and atmospheric synth lines. Five years would pass before a followup, with their latest and fourth album, S’Only Natural, arriving last year, showcasing the band’s best songwriting yet, and achieving a sound that feels like a perfect fusion of everything that came before, landing at a polished and danced primed indie pop that’s both earnest and widely accessibly, feeling, moreso than any of their prior work, like a band truly falling into their definitive sound.

Though Hellogoodbye have made their way to Nashville off and on over the years, alternating from supporting slots at bigger rooms (notably once even opening for Paramore at Bridgestone Arena a few years back) and more modest headlining club dates, when the group (or, more accurately, frontman and creative through line Forrest Kline) return tonight, Dec. 9, it’ll be for their most unique and imitate local show ever. Part of a trek dubbed “Gimme Some Living Room,” in partnership with DIY living room show and ticketing group Undertow Shows, Kline is performing in private residences and spaces around the globe, playing stripped-down shows hosted by fans, limited to only around 50 tickets. All we know about tonight’s performance is that it beings at 8 p.m. and is happening somewhere in the 37217 zip code, but tickets are still available here while they last, and you’ll receive the address and all pertinent details as soon as you lock in your spot for this unique event! Needless to say, if you’re a Hellogoodbye fan, you seriously don’t want to miss out.

Hellogoodbye will perform tonight, Dec. 9 at an undisclosed private location in the 37217 zip code (information supplied upon ticket purchase). The show is all ages, begins at 8 p.m., and tickets are available to purchase for $35.
