After springing out of the city’s underground house scene several years ago, and growing to include more formal spaces like The East Room and The End, DIY punk festival Nameless Fest, now in its fifth year, returns this week from Thursday, June 27 to Saturday, June 29, set to return to its one-time partial home of premiere all ages, DIY space Drkmttr (which relocated to a more formal spot on the east side earlier this year), with a day show also slated to take place this year at Grimey’s.

Boasting the usual mixture of punk, hardcore, indie, and beyond, with a healthy mix of local, regional, and national talent, the Thursday and Friday evening shows will both run $10 at the door, while Saturday’s closing slate is $15, and the Grimey’s day show is free, with each and every show open to all ages, and $30 weekend passes available for those who want to make the most of the fest.

Thursday’s lineup is more indie and grunge rooted, plus a touch of metal, with Pennsylvania’s Slingshot Dakota and Rick Maguire from Boston’s Pile, joined by locals Sad Baxter, Tom Violence, and Iven. Friday night skews much more hardcore punk, with Pennsylvania’s SOUL GLO and Alabama’s Black Hole Kids, joined by locals Act of Impalement, Waxed, Thirdface, and Anti-Human. Saturday’s free day show goes back to more punk, grunge, and indie with locals Shell of a Shell and Sallow, along with Illinois up and comers Nectar and Alabama’s Bulging. Then Saturday night ends with an eclectic mix of metal, hardcore, and hip hop, with Louisiana’s Thou, Alabama’s Heavy User, and locals Moru and Kent Osborne. Preview all of the performers below!

Namless Fest V will run Thursday, June 27, Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29, with evening shows at Drkmttr, plus a Saturday day show at Grimey’s. The Grimey’s show is free, Thursday and Friday nights are $10 each at the door, and Saturday night is $15 a the door, with weekend passes available for $30. Every show is all ages. Night one appears to kick off at  5 p.m., but we advise you check the event’s Facebook page for updated times, as well as details on a Saturday night after-party.
