By now you surely know how obsessed with our with Nashville’s current pop scene. It’s undeniable that our city is having a moment, with more talented, interesting, and fresh singers and bands emerging in the pop sphere so fast we can barely keep track. Four of the most prominent up and coming voices, most all singers you should be familiar with if you read the site on the regular, are coming together for a HOUSEQUAKE showcase dubbed “Wonder Women” tonight, May 24 at The High Watt, offering an unbelievable sampling of some seriously need-to-know artists.
Minnesota raised indie popster Kellie Besch wowed us with her synth-drenched, emotional debut EP, and last year’s surprising and cool Sylvan Esso cover. Also originally from Minnesota, eclectic alt pop singer Anna Mae sprung onto the scene with a strong debut single last fall, and has been honing her anthemic, radio-primed sound ever since. An artist we’ve been gushing about for years, Chelsea Lankes is back in Nashville after a stint in LA, and has been steadily churning out new tunes, honing her signature fusion of layered, stylish, electro-drenched, and entrancing indie pop. And brand new to the scene, Miami transplant ELA Lindsey just hit the ground running with her gritty, must-hear debut single “Healing Me Slow.”
Any one of these singers would be worth the price of admission, but together, they make up one of the week’s most essential shows. Grab tickets here and support this exciting corner of the Nashville pop scene!
