Just last month, Michigan hard rock revivalists Greta Van Fleet headlined Mercy Lounge, and a few months before that, made their Nashville debut at The High Watt. With just two EPs, both released last year, to their name, the young band seem fueled only by limitless potential and a stunning and well-deserved comparison to Led Zeppelin, so it was no surprise last week to see them announce their biggest Nashville outing to date: May 16 at Marathon Music Works. What was a bit of a shock, however, is just how fast the group managed to sell it out. In under a minute, tickets to Marathon as well of a handful of other new dates were entirely gone (we’re still giving away a pair of tickets, however), but fortunately the band, who are hard at work tracking their debut full-length, took that as an opportunity to announce a full spring tour, which adds a second night at Marathon, on May 14.
It’s impressive when any band blows up so fast, and doubly so for an old school inspired rock group in a climate where rock has all but faded from the mainstream, but Greta are the real deal, and you should expect their second date to sell out just as quick, when tickets go on sale this Friday, Jan. 26 at 12 p.m. CST right here.
