We’ve been following Nashville based R&B/pop artist R.LUM.R since buzzy track “Be Honest” grabbed our attention back in 2015. The incredibly talented singer/songwriter/producer keeps blowing things through the roof with new music and sold out shows, and he keeps up the trend with latest single “Close Enough.” It’s a vibrant and self-aware jam that features R.LUM.R’s signature versatile vocals and gorgeous production.

“Sometimes we want something to work so badly that we’re willing to go looking for any one ray of light that’ll hopefully dispel the overwhelming shadows in a relationship. You get to the point where you try to focus so much on that light, that it blinds you, and you disregard all the darkness around you that’s doing the same. It’s about someone realizing that denial, and is trying their best to work through that cognitive dissonance, between what they feel and what they think needs to happen,” R.LUM.R says. “I’m hoping to highlight that mental state on ‘Close Enough,’ so that you don’t ever have to put yourself through it.”

R.LUM.R is in the midst of a breakout year, with festival appearances and an upcoming live date at Mercy Lounge on Aug. 23 (tickets here). His EP, AFTERIMAGE, is set for an Aug. 11 release. Listen to “Close Enough” and stay tuned for more to come from R.LUM.R!
