LA alt rockers Rooney, who formed nearly two decades ago in high school, before finding mainstream recognition in the early ’00s, recently announced a lengthy “Ultrasonic Summer Tour,” which brings them to The High Watt on June 28, following a performance at 12th & Porter last fall. As we noted ahead of the last show, the band has become something of a solo outlet for frontman and chief songwriter Robert Schwartzman, and the longstanding live lineup of the group all departed ahead of last year’s poppy, retro fourth LP, Washed Away. With great new music and newfound inspiration, it feels like Rooney have found their stride once more (and seem to be generating more buzz than they have in years), so whether they’re a band you haven’t seen in awhile, or you’re just now getting to know them, it’s a great time to see the group in action! Grab tickets right here.
