SXSW 2017

The South By Southwest Conference & Festival kicks off again in Austin in a few weeks, March 13-19 for the music portion, and many of our friends in bands and the industry will be making the pilgrimage down interstates 40, 35, and 30 to attend.  As we’ve done in years past, we’ve kept tabs on those that are official showcased artists at this year’s event, and you can dig into them below.

This year also marks the first SXSW showcase dubbed “The Nashville House,” which features local artists in genres ranging from pop, alternative, rock, and electronic in our city’s continued effort to show that Music City is more than just country.  The lineup is layered with blog faves including Cappa, R.LUM.R, The New Respects, ELEL, Andreas Moss, Future Thieves, EZA, Louis York, My Red + Blue, *repeat repeat, LUKR, James Droll, Ron Gallo, Masha, Kingsbury, Phangs, The Foxies, Jeff Carl, Idle Bloom, Devon Gilfillian, J. Human, and more.  The event runs from noon until midnight on March 14 at Tellers (607 Trinity Street), and admission is free to the public (badges or wristbands required after 8 p.m.).  You can RSVP, and get more information here.

Not heading to Austin?  You can catch a number of these acts at The Nashville House: SXSW Send Off Show at The High Watt on March 9.  This show features My Red + Blue, Masha, LUKR, Koyoke, EZA, and Phangs.  Doors are at 7 p.m., the show starts at 8 p.m., and proceeds from your $5 ticket go directly to the bands.

Take a gander at the latest local artists to receive official confirmation below.
