It’s technically been two decades since beloved Texas indie pop group Eisley, initially made up of all siblings, first formed, though their proper debut album wouldn’t arrive until 2005, and has been followed by a succession of captivating releases, world tours, and critical praise ever since. After a decade of touring with their longstanding, original lineup, Eisley saw a shift in 2015, which left frontwoman Sherri DuPree-Bemis as the group’s core remaining songwriter and vocalist, and bassist and cousin Garron DuPree the only other remaining longtime member. Since then, they’ve toured with the likes of Copeland and The Dear Hunter, backed by a semi-roatating cast of family members and live players, keeping the Eisley name and legacy alive, while crafting a long-awaited followup 2013’s Currents in their home of Tyler, Texas with producer Will Yip.
Eisley’s highly-anticipated fifth LP, I’m Only Dreaming, is finally slated to arrive tomorrow, Feb. 17 via Equal Vision Records, though the group have made it available to stream early on YouTube, for those of you who, like us, just can’t wait (spoiler: it’s the same classic dreamy, layered, whimsical sound you’ve come to expect). Along with their new album, the band are also kicking off a lengthy spring tour today, which brings them to back to Exit/In next week, Feb. 20 along with Nashville’s own Civilian and new labelmates Backwards Dancer. Tickets are still available right here, and as a longtime Nashville favorite, we wouldn’t suggest procrastinating on snagging yours!
