After first embarking on a joint solo tour back in 2015, Thrice’s Dustin Kensrue and Manchester Orchestra’s Andy Hull are re-teaming once more for a spring run of dates, which brings them to Nashville’s own Mercy Lounge on March 23. Both artists have received massive acclaim for their respective projects, Kensrue with seminal California post-hardcore outfit Thrice, who, after a hiatus, returned in 2015 and released a comeback album last year, and Hull with Atlanta’s Manchester Orchestra (as well as Bad Books and Right Away, Great Captain!), whose emotionally resonate indie rock has made them darlings of the scene over the past decade. Andy is no stranger to performing solo, but Dustin has definitely had the more formal solo run thus far, releasing several albums under his own name and adopting an indie rock bent. Both rockers have packed bigger space Cannery Ballroom with their bands in recent years, but solo, a smaller Mercy show is sure to be a special treat for fans and a more intimate showcase of their diverse sensibilities. Robert McDowell, also of Manchester Orchestra, has been tapped to open, and tickets are available Friday, Feb. 10 at 12 p.m. CST right here.
