It’s hard to believe that Marathon Music Works is already 5 years old. It seems like yesterday that the venue was announced as part of the Marathon Village that was beginning to take hold of Nashville’s Watkins Park neighborhood. In the years since they’ve opened their doors, we watched them struggle with a seemingly unbelievable number of uncontrollable set backs at the beginning to become one of the premier large rooms in the city, and we have seen them march a literal who’s who of rising buzz bands, as well as established legacy acts through their stage. Tonight, they are giving a little something back to all the music fans that have helped them get to where to they are today. They are hosting a FREE 18+ show starting at 8 p.m. tonight featuring the funk-soul wizardry of Robert Randolph & The Family Band, the creole seasoned rock and roll of The Delta Saints, and rising Americana rocker Cody Huggins.
You get all of this for free, but an RSVP is encouraged here. However, RSVPs do not ensure entry, so head out early to make sure you don’t wait in line, and you can even meet up for a special anniversary celebration party starting at 4 p.m. at the attached watering hole, William Colliers. Head below to get a taste of all the artists performing, and we’ll see you tonight.
